Steve Mora is a principal and risk advisor at Heritage Insurance Agency, specializing in agribusiness and commercial risk across Northern California. He grew up on a ranch on California’s Central Coast—hauling hay, irrigating pastures, and building fences—which shaped his deep connection to agriculture and respect for the people behind it.

After earning a degree in Agriculture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Steve found his lane as a risk advisor—helping agricultural operations make practical, informed insurance decisions. He was one of the first agents in the nation to earn the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) designation and is among a select few Nationwide Elite Farm Certified agents in California. He also holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations.

Steve is known for making risk management approachable. He shares insights through industry podcasts and collaborates with insurance carriers and industry partners to help improve agribusiness risk solutions—bringing that perspective back to the clients and communities he serves.

Deeply engaged in agriculture, Steve supports local farm organizations and programs like FFA and 4-H, serves on his local volunteer fire department, and contributes leadership to industry groups, advisory boards, and community organizations.

When Steve isn’t working with clients, he’s usually headed for the mountains or the sky—skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, and flying as a pilot and paramotor enthusiast whenever he gets the chance.
