Last night, our team attended the Honeybee Discovery Center reception for the Golden Bee Circle. We left feeling grateful—grateful for the organization’s work, and grateful for the people in our region who consistently show up to make Northern California better.
One thing that really stood out was hearing how the Honeybee Discovery Center is helping educate and inspire local students and families. In an agricultural community, that kind of hands-on learning matters. It strengthens understanding of pollinators, stewardship, and the real-world connection between education and agriculture.
At Heritage Insurance Agency, we’re proud to play a small part in that bigger effort. Community involvement is important to us—not as a one-time gesture, but as something we commit to throughout the year.
What community involvement looks like to us
To us, supporting our community means showing up in the places where people learn, grow, and connect.
It means standing behind agriculture and youth programs through California Women for Agriculture, YF&R (Young Farmers & Ranchers), local FFA and 4-H groups—and supporting the young people who work hard all year for County Fair Junior Livestock Auctions.
It also means giving our time. Heritage team members volunteer in many ways—serving through organizations like Rotary, Kiwanis, and Soroptimist, participating in local leadership through the Chico Chamber of Commerce, and showing up for kids and families as youth sports coaches and 4-H leaders.
And we’re proud to support local traditions and education that invest directly in the next generation—including Farm-City Week, the Dairyville Orchard Festival (which raises funds for agricultural youth), the Glenn County Fair Heritage Foundation, and the Honeybee Discovery Center, where we’re grateful to be founding members of the Golden Bee Circle.
Fair season is a highlight
Fair season is one of our favorite times of year because it’s where community feels the most tangible—families together, neighbors reconnecting, and young people learning responsibility and leadership.
